The Flash Season 4 To Show An Emotional Journey For Tom Cavanagh’s Harrison Wells

The Flash has turned out to be a highly successful venture for The CW. With a fourth season to premiere this year, it will bring the scarlet speedster, a new antagonist and some familiar faces back.

One of the familiar faces that is all set to return is Tom Cavanagh’s Harrison Wells. As fans might know there have been multiple versions of the character but the one returning would be an ally of Team Flash.

Screen Rant reported the revelation that Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg made in an interview with EW. According to the EP, Cavanagh’s Wells from Earth-2 who actually turned out to be a friend of Team Flash would be returning in the new season. Apart from this version, a new Wells from another Earth would also be introduced in the new season.

However, it was also indicated that Earth-2’s Wells’ journey will not be an easy one. It was further elaborated that he will be pondering about what to do with himself on Earth-1. With his daughter being the Flash on Earth-3, it would really be on him to find what he wants to do.

There have been multiple versions of the character starting with Eobard Thawne, who had murdered Earth-1’s Wells and taken his place. After him came the Wells from Earth-2 who took the role of a mentor and helped the team a lot.

He then chose a replacement and the charismatic Wells of Earth-19 was introduced to the viewers. However, with him gone as well, Earth-2’s Wells will come back to fill the void along with a new version.

In the interview, it was also revealed that Earth-2’s Wells’ journey would be tied with the season 4 main villain The Thinker’s plan. It was not revealed how will it be tied but with Wells being on Flash’s side, he will surely be able to help the speedster in defeating the world’s fastest mind.

The Flash revolves around Barry Allen who after being struck by lightning got abilities and became the fastest man alive. He has since then used this power to fight supervillains and keep Central city safe.

The Flash season 4 will air on October 10 on The CW.
