Earlier this month, Marvel’s Kevin Feige and DC’s Geoff Johns made a surprising appearance together to an event to pay tribute to Director Richard Donner. Both Presidents revealed that they share a friendly past and were able to finally put rest to discussions which suggested them to be rivals due to the respective studios they work for.

Recently, Feige had another opportunity to set records straight that there’s no form of rivalry and that it just seems to exist among the press. Furthermore, the Marvel President seems to be more excited for the upcoming DCEU titles rather than view them as a threat to Marvel.

Feige shared his positive views during an interview with French news website AlloCiné, as part of the promotion for the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming. The discussion was aired live via Facebook as the interviewer presented questions from fans.

One of the questions prompted the Marvel President to talk about his relationship with DC Film President Geoff Johns. Feige. Here is what he had to say.

“There’s not really a rivalry. The rivalry is much more amongst the press, I think,” said Feige in the interview with AlloCiné.

“Geoff Johns is a very good friend of mine. We grew up together in the business and recently celebrated Richard Donner, who we both used to work for,” he continued. “So, I applaud all the success he has. I really just look at it as a fan. When the movies perform well and are well received, it’s good for us – which is why I’m always rooting for them.”

Going by Feige’s statement, the Marvel President also seems to be fanboying over DC’s success with the recent Wonder Woman. He also shared his views on the female superhero film in the video at 6:50. Furthermore, Fans can check out Feige’s comment on Geoff Johns and DCEU at 23:27.
