Currently, a question that remains unanswered is if Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut movie, A Star Is Born will go on to be one of the best critical acclaimed titles of the year or just another regular classic. That question is expected to be answered later this week at Venice.
After its premiere at the film festival, A Star Is Born will hit theatres on October 5th. In the meanwhile, Warner Bros. has released 4 new hi-res stills from the movie to keep fans entertained.
One of the stills shows Lady Gaga performing on stage with Cooper playing in the back. Another still shows Sam Elliott in a confrontation with Cooper’s Jackson. From what we learnt in the trailer, the scene clearly doesn’t end well. You can check out the images below.
This will be Gaga’s first leading role in a major motion picture. However, the American singer also got her spotlight on the small screen for her role in American Horror Story which earned her a Golden Globe award in 2016.
In the upcoming movie, Gaga won’t just be playing as Ally but has also performed original songs in the movie.
Gaga wrote the songs along with Cooper and a handful of artists including Lukas Nelson, Jason Isbell and Mark Ronson. What’s more exciting is that the music in the film is original and was recorded live.
A Star Is Born centers over seasoned musician Jackson Maine played by Cooper who stumbles across struggling artist ally (Lady Gaga) and decides to take her under his wing and pushes her into the spotlight. While Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jack fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.
A Star Is Born also stars Michael Harney, Andrew Dice Clay and Dave Chappelle.
