Rumors of Deadpool 2 actor Lewis Tan having a talk with DC over being a part of Chris McKay’s Nightwing as Dick Grayson started making rounds soon after the actor shared a post on Twitter regarding his meeting with DC Entertainment executives.
In a recent interview with That Hashtag Show at the Saturn Awards, Tan has confirmed that he certainly had talks with DC over the role of superhero Nightwing, among other projects. When Tan was asked if there is a possibility of him appearing as Dick Grayson in Chris McKay’s upcoming film, he replied that he had a lot of different talks with the DC people and Nightwing was a part of the conversation. But, at this point of time he cannot confirm anything.
“I know Chris McKay wants a martial artist, right, so that’s out there,” Tan said. “He’s following me on Twitter, you know…there’s a lot of good juju vibes out there for that. Nothing that I can say that is confirmed.”
“So we’re looking for the right thing and there were a lot of different talks and Nightwing was one of those that were mentioned, so we’ll see,” the Deadpool 2 actor added.
Notably, just having a discussion about a particular film doesn’t mean that the actor has been finalized. To clarify more on the matter, Tan himself took to Twitter to confirm that he did not meet DC executives specifically for the solo batman spin-off project. He added that he loves Nightwing and given a chance he would definitely want to portray Dick Grayson’s character in the film.
So, it’s now finally confirmed that Tan has not yet been finalized for DC’s Nightwing movie. Hopefully, director Chris McKay’s search for an actor with a martial arts background for his movie might end up on Tan who showcased his impressive martial arts skills in AMC’s Into the Badlands.
