While Warner Bros. and DC Films effort to bring together almost all the biggest names in DC Comics in 2017’s Justice League didn’t turn out to be as successful as expected, a couple of superheroes characters from the film including Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Ezra Miller’s The Flash and Ray Fisher’s Victor Stone/Cyborg got a lot of love and appreciation from audiences as well as the critics.
Actor Ray Fisher portrayed the superhero character first as a brief cameo in the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and a full-fledged role in the 2017 film Justice League. He is all set to appear in a standalone Cyborg film which is set to release in 2020.
During a Q&A panel at the Wizard World Philadelphia 2018 event (via Comicbook), Fisher was asked which DC Comics villain he would like to see his character Cyborg lock hands with in future. The actor preferred taking the name of the iconic DC Comics villain Brainiac.
“I would take Brainiac, from Superman.” Fisher said. “For sure. Cyborg and Brainiac? I think that would be a really cool match up.”
It will be interesting to find out if Cyborg will ever face-off Brainiac in any of the future DCEU films. Blake Ritson’s Brainiac recently appeared in the first season of the SYFY television series Krypton which will end on May 23, 2018. The second season of Krypton is scheduled to debut sometime next year.
Talking more about the solo Cyborg film, the movie will likely be an origin story of the character with Fisher reprising his superhero role.
During an interview with ET earlier this year, actor Joe Morton, who plays Victor Stone’s father, Dr. Silas Stone, revealed some details about the upcoming film. He said that the standalone movie will explain everything about the titular character, his father and about the family, from where he came from and how he became the Cyborg.
