A lot of love and support have been pouring in for actor Burt Reynolds who died on Thursday, September 6. The 82-year-old actor went into cardiac arrest at Jupiter Medical Center in Florida.
Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds is among one of the Hollywood celebrities who took to social media to honor the Academy Award-nominated star. He posted identical photos of Burt and Merc’ With the Mouth in the same pose pointing out that he is the one who inspired Deadpool’s marketing campaign.
“He did it first. And best. And naked,” Ryan wrote on Twitter. Some other big Hollywood celebrities also offered their tribute to the actor on social media.
Actress Kate Hudson posted an old picture of her, Reynolds and her mother Goldie Hawn and captioned it with a broken heart emoji.
Mark Wahlberg, who was Burt’s co-star in Boogie Nights, wrote, “Rest in peace to a legend and a friend.”
Sylvester Stallone, who appeared alongside Burt Reynolds in 2001 released Driven, remembered the actor with an Instagram post, recalling how the actor once told him he should have cast him in the first Rambo movie.
“I said that’s impossible, because you’re too expensive and too famous, and probably tougher than Rambo,” Stallone noted. He added that Reynolds “had a great sense of humor and I enjoyed his company so much.”
Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger called Reynolds “one of my heroes” and “a trailblazer.”
“He showed the way to transition from being an athlete to being the highest paid actor, and he always inspired me,” Schwarzenegger wrote on Twitter.
Baywatch star David Hasselhoff hailed Reynolds as “the best, funniest super hero on this planet,” while Family Feud and talk show host Steve Harvey remembered him as “a great actor, a philanthropist and a pioneer of the cool mustache.”
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actor Ming-Na Wen said the late star “will always be a Hollywood legend.”
Burt Reynolds was unable to film his final movie role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which is currently in production in Los Angeles. He is survived by his son Quinton.
