It seems Ant-Man & the Wasp is not yet over with reshoots. Now that Marvels’ Avengers: Infinity War is just a few days away from release, the film studio has turned all its attention to its next superhero film Ant-Man and The Wasp which debuts in theaters on July 6 this year.
The Ant-Man sequel will introduce Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne a.k.a. The Wasp. Recently, the actress took to Instagram to post a short video that shows her getting ready for a shoot. Interestingly, the video has been captioned as “Guess who’s back…back again. Wasp is back…tell a friend.” You can check out the post below.
It was recently reported that the entire opening of Ant-Man & the Wasp is being reshot in Los Angeles. While reshoots are quite normal for big blockbuster films, the fact that the movie’s entire opening sequence is being reshot is a matter of big concern. The reshoot was planned after the sequence didn’t play well with test audiences.
The reshoot is taking place in Los Angeles where Marvel is also currently shooting Captain Marvel. It makes sense that the Ant-Man & the Wasp reshoots would utilize the facilities and crew members already in place there.
A new Ant-Man & the Wasp poster was recently unveiled as part of the Disney fan club D23’s summer promotion. The poster features the two shrinkable superheroes Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) standing back to back. You can have a glimpse of the poster below.
Ant-Man & The Wasp director Peyton Reed had revealed in a previous interview that the sequel film won’t essentially be a full-on romantic-comedy film. He also mentioned that Evangeline Lilly’s role in the film as The Wasp will not be that of a supporting actor. She will be playing a quite important role in the upcoming film.
Other than the two lead actors, the film also stars Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster, Judy Greer as Maggie, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne and Hannah John-Kamen as the antagonist Ghost.
