It looks like DC’s Titans has cast another character for its TV series. A recent report has revealed that actor Alan Ritchson will be playing as Hawk in the live-action show.
According to Deadline, Richson is cast to portray as Hawk a.k.a Hank Hall in DC’s Titans. The actor will be playing the original version of the superhero partnered along with Dove. The couple are famously known as ‘Hawk and Dove’ in the comics.
The same news agency also reported that Dove will be played by Minka Kelly. The 37-year-old actress is known for her role in Fright Night Lights.
Hawk and Dove are currently set as recurring characters for the series. However, things could change for season 2 and allow those characters to be a regular on the show. Furthermore, Deadline also states that the producers are also considering the characters for a spinoff series.
It looks like the characters chance to bag their own series depends on their popularity from season 1. While Hawk and Dove indeed have a big storyline, it comes down to the fans and the show’s ratings.
Ritchson’s casting may come as a disappointment to some DCEU fans. The actor was one of the few that were fan cast for the role of Shazam. While Ritchson also continued to campaign for the role, many fans were expecting him to be shortlisted for the role.
Earlier this month, Brenton Thwaites was cast as Dick Grayson a.k.a Nightwing for DC’s Titans. The actor will be the lead in TV series heading a team of young superheroes such as Starfire, Raven and Beast boy.
DC’s Titans is a live-action TV series that has taken onboard Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and other talents as producers. The show is expected to premiere in 2018 in DC’s new digital streaming device.
