Earlier on Thursday, Amber Heard began her first day on set filming for Aquaman. The actress also shared a photo from her makeup chair-prepping for the shoot while reading an Aquaman comic. But that wasn’t the only image for the day.
Director James Wan shared the first official look at Amber Heard as Mera on Twitter from her first day on set. The photo reveals the actress wearing the new fish scale type attire, similar to the character’s appearance in the comics.
A few hours later, Heard also shared a photo wearing the Mera costume, posing in a different angle. The costume design looks truly aesthetic and is colorful compared to Mera’s attire in Justice League.
Earlier last month, Heard officially joined Twitter, hyping her fan base to expect more photos and clips from daily life. But the actress didn’t share any images related to Aquaman until now.
The photo was captured by Jasin Boland, an Australian based photographer working on the set with Wan. For those unaware, Boland was the set photographer for The Matrix Trilogy. Furthermore, he has worked on various films such as Mission: Impossible 2 and 3, Mad Max: Fury, The Karate Kid and more. Fans can check out his portfolio here.
Aquaman releases on December 21st, 2018. Earlier set photos from the location revealed the film crew building Amnesty Bay, the hometown of Arthur Curry. Currently, Heard, Jason Momoa and the rest of the main cast are in Australia filming for Aquaman.
Amber Heard has made her debut appearance as Mera in Justice League. The film releases on November 17th, 2017.
