Like father like daughter, Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) springs into action to sneak inside a premium car in a new tie-in advertisement for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The potential Young Avenger was shown in the trailers as a captive of Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) in the Quantum Realm with Scott Lang’s Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) tasked to steal a certain treasure in return for not only the safety of his family but also the time he lost.
All the marketing for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been a build-up for the next significant threat to the MCU, Kang the Conqueror. In the words of Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), “He can rewrite existence and shatter timelines” which more or less assures the big bad is more menacing than Thanos. But the villain’s arrival has also taken the thunder away from characters like Cassie Lang, The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), etc.
Fortunately, Marvel Studios’ partnership with Volkswagen for their All Electric ID.4 commercial has offered us an early look at Cassie Lang suited up in her purple costume along with the Pym Particle-powered headgear. An ant-sized Cassie jumps out of a window in a heist-style pursuit and makes her way to the vehicle.
Cassie Lang argues with Scott Lang over using Pym Particles in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania footage
The advertisement goes a step further to show Lang accessing the vehicle and returning to her normal human size to drive it but is interrupted by Scott Lang. Cassie shrinks down the ID. 4 car but there’s no use of the Pym Particles disk. Readers can check it out below.
Speaking of Cassie Lang, a new clip from Ant-Man 3 shows Scott Lang and Hope driving with Cassie and reprimanding her for using the suit. It’s clear the father-daughter duo relationship would be a pivotal point in the movie, in fact, there’s hope to see Cassie be officially named as Stature, her comic counterpart’s superhero identity and team-up with others like Kate Bishop in future MCU titles.
Besides Cassie and other new faces in Ant-Man 3 like Bill Murray, the threequel will introduce M.O.D.O.K., another well-known villain from Marvel Comics. Nonetheless, This Kang, unlike the Loki series version, packs a harder punch and deserves the antagonist title for Phase 5.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will hit theaters on Feb 17, 2023.
