Antiope Role In Justice League Hinted To Be Part Of Flashback, Details

The official new Justice League trailer gave us a glimpse of the Amazonians fighting Parademons a long time ago on Earth. The scene indicated the importance of the warriors from Themyscira in the DCEU.

Fans were looking forward to the Amazonians playing a larger role in the recently released Wonder Woman. Unfortunately, their expectations fell short when the movie barely graced over the history of Themyscira and Diana Prince’s relationship with her mother Queen Hippolyta.

Nonetheless, the Amazonian warriors will play a larger role along with the Atlantians in the upcoming Justice League. Furthermore, fans will also get to see more of Robin Wright’s Antiope in the film as well.

Recently, Gal Gadot, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright had a Q&A interview with Los Angeles Times. During their chat, the cast members were asked if Queen Hippolyta and Diana would get the chance to explore their relationship in future films.

Diana’s relationship with Queen Hippolyta surely has a future if DCEU greenlights a sequel for Wonder Woman. “I think that there’s a lot more to explore,” said Gadot explaining that the mother and daughter relationship is beautiful and complex.

Antiope, on the other hand, will be a warrior of the past. Fortunately, the character has already played her role well in Justice League. Here’s what Nielsen and Wright had to say after Gadot’s reply.

Nielsen: And [Wright and I] got to do more in “Justice League” as well. As sisters as well. Kind of badass as well. We can’t say much, but …

Wright: And more of the story, you get some of the history.

Going by Wright’s comment, it looks like Antiope’s scene is part of the flashback sequences in Justice League. The Amazonian warrior might have played a prominent role beside Queen Hippolyta during their battle against the Parademons.

By far, the trailer hasn’t revealed much about the “history”. Fortunately, Fan’s can expect to find out later this year on November 17th as the film hits theaters worldwide.
