After several hurdles, the Filming of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has continued on smoothly in the UK. As director James Wan nears wrapping up production in London, actor Dolph Lundgren is among the first to finish filming his part for the DCEU sequel
Lundgren plays King Nereus of Xebel, one of the Seven Kingdoms of Atlantis and father to Mera (Amber Heard). The character played a pivotal role in the first installment siding with King Orm during the conflict with surface dwellers.
The Expendables star announced his completing filming for Aquaman 2 via his official Instagram handle. He wrote, “Done with Aquaman 2, had a great shoot with the most fantastic cast and crew. Off to Expendable. Switching up from my king’s armor to Gunner’s .50 cal sniper rifle!! .” You can check it out below. Meanwhile, Lundgren has a busy filming schedule as he heads off to film for Expendables 4 in Greece.

The highly anticipated follow-up to 2018’s Aquaman will show the King of Atlantis’s ongoing adventure facing new threats in the underwater world. Earlier in October during DC FanDome, a 2 min behind-the-scenes video offered glimpses of Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry, Patrick Wilson’s Ocean Master and the sequel’s supervillain, Black Manta (Yahya Abdul Mateen II). Nevertheless, plot details still remain in wrap though Wan had this to say during the DC event:
“The second one is a little bit more serious, a little more relevant to the world we’re living in today. That’s where it wants to go.”
Production on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom began in July but the film faced a brief halt after Jason Momoa contracted covid-19 and faced quarantine according to UK health regulations. Fortunately, filming resumed after the star’s recovery. A new online update suggests that the next location is in Oahu’s Hālona Beach Cove, Hawaii.
