It seems fans will have to wait a little more for the first Aquaman trailer to arrive. Actor Dolph Lundgren who is portraying the character of King Nereus in the upcoming DC Film has revealed that the movie is currently undergoing additional photography. Notably, additional photography or scene reshoots is a standard part of any film’s production process, so, there’s nothing to get worried about.
Lundgren took to Instagram to share a short video story when he was on his way to set. The picture was captioned with “Ready for my King Nereus costume.” You can check out the picture below.
Director James Wan also came forward to address the rumors circulating about Aquaman’s first trailer. He posted a series of tweets explaining that they had no plans to release the trailer in the coming days, not at least until he gets the desired visual effects right.
“…a teaser-trailer going out this weekend was never in the books, despite what some claim,” Wan tweeted. “It’s not because of anyone or any nefarious reason holding it back — IT’S ME.”
Wan added that he wants to make sure that the movie and even the trailer is on par with fans’ expectations. So, fans should not expect a trailer until the special effects work meets his standards. As Aquaman is an origin story, Wan wants that the titular character of Arthur, played by Jason Momoa, to get the best possible chance to shine onscreen.
Fan’s expectations from the James Wan-directed project are very high considering the fact that the film’s early test screenings got positive feedback from the audiences. The audiences claim to have loved the movie and also praised the action-packed emotional story.
It was earlier reported that the first trailer for Aquaman might likely get rolled out in Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con 2018 event, which is set to kick off on Thursday, July 19, 2018. It is usually seen that filmmakers roll out the first trailer of their films at least six months before the release date. So, the chances of Aquaman’s first trailer rolling out during the San Diego Comic-Con 2018 event are pretty high, considering its December 21, 2018, release date.

Hey friends, I usually do my best to avoid internet noises (especially fabricated distractions) but a teaser-trailer going out this weekend was never in the books — despite what some claim. It’s not because of anyone or any nefarious reason holding it back — IT’S ME. (1/3)

I am simply not ready yet to share. This movie is filled to the gills with VFX, and the process is as slow and laborious as a sea-slug! Yes, even shots for the trailers take forever to do, and I refuse to put out anything that might be construed as subpar. (2/3)

I know it seems like nothing much is brewing above the surface, but I can assure you, we’re working nonstop under the waves 🌊 😉 (3/3)
