Warner Bros. and DC Films have just one film lined up for release in 2018, titled Aquaman, which is set to hit theaters next month. As per the latest reports, an Aquaman test screening was recently held in California and early reactions coming from the lucky audience members have already flooded social media. The reactions are mainly positive with some even calling out Aquaman as the best DCEU movie ever.
Notably, after the Justice League debacle, many DC fans were worried about how James Wan’s Aquaman would come up. But, looking at the reviews it seems the film is certainly going to be a big treat for audiences.
A Reddit user who goes by the name MaxBorne compared Aquaman with DC’s blockbuster hit Wonder Woman. He noted that the upcoming movie is better than Wonder Woman with Atlantis being a much more fleshed out world than Themyscira.
“I would say that its not perfect but I did genuinely have fun watching it, Atlantis felt like muuuuch more of a fleshed out world than Themascara, Orm/Black Manta were far less generic than Mecha-Lupen, and the color pallet was brilliant… so yes I would say that It’s better than Wonder Woman IMO, if I had seen it,” MaxBorne wrote on Reddit.

Warner Bros. has also recently released a batch of glossy new promotional photos for the film featuring Arthur Curry, Nicole Kidman, Black Manta, Mera, and more.
Aquaman is directed by James Wan and stars Jason Momoa as the titular hero Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
The film swims into theaters on December 21, 2018 but earlier in some regions.
