The first look of Aquaman is here. Shirtless and wet, Aquaman/Arthur Curry looks extremely angry as he strides out of the steam from what seems to be an industrial setting. It could also be a submarine or a ship. A strange bald figure is also seen standing on his left.
The first look of Aquaman, directed by James Wan (Furious 7, The Conjuring) was revealed by EW earlier today. Needless to say, Jason Momoa, who plays the title role in the film, looks mind blowing with his signature style and perfect body. The image shows an angrier, more tattooed, and menacing Arthur Curry from what we have seen in DCEU’s just recently released Justice League. The first look also reveals a chain wallet attached to Aquaman’s belt. Until further details or till the time the movie hits the theaters, we will not know exactly what this half-human, half-Atlantean super-hero is so pissed off about! Gauging from what Jason Momoa had said in an interview about Arthur Curry, we get to understand a bit of his seriousness. Referring to his character as a beast, Momoa said, “This is a totally different beast. In Aquaman, you see when his parents met and what happened to them. Then the little boy being raised and finding his powers and going through that and never being accepted on either side. And then becoming this man who puts up all these walls. You just slowly see this man harden up and be completely reluctant wanting to be king and not knowing what to do with these powers he has.” Momoa further added, “ I think James Wan just killed it.”
Wan sure would have as the first look suggests so. The image of Aquaman that has come out is certainly intriguing and weird at the same time.
Warner Bros. have a very attractive lead man, and that is exactly what they are riding on. Fans of Jason Momoa have something to treasure about until more pictures and information comes out from the studio.
Aquaman is expected to release on December 21, 2018.
