Warner Bros. has reportedly updated the official website for Aquaman movie to reveal the film’s PG-13 rating from the MPAA as well as the credits. The upcoming DCEU film has been rated PG-13 for its “sequences of sci-fi violent and action” as well as “language”.
The underwater superhero Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, first debuted on the big screen in a small cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and then appeared in Justice League. The upcoming movie will be the DC superhero’s origin movie. It will dig deeper into how Arthur, whose mother abandoned him at the age of three, goes on a quest to find out about himself and the legendary world of Atlantis.
Aquaman will have a lot of action sequences as we will see Arthur’s battle against his half-brother Orm to take his place as King of Atlantis. The film’s first trailer ends with a massive underwater battle that looks to be one of the film’s major action sequences.
Aquaman’s credits list includes Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, former DC Films heads Jon Berg and Geoff Johns, and new DC Films president Walter Hamada as executive producers. Geoff Johns, director James Wan, and Will Beall have been credited for the movie’s story, with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall credited for the script.
The filmmakers recently conducted early test screenings for the Aquaman movie in Los Angeles. The James Wan’s epic underwater adventure garnered a lukewarm response from the audiences, with the general consensus deeming the DC superhero film good, but not great.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm a.k.a. Ocean Master, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus and Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry.
Aquaman is scheduled to dive into theaters on December 21.
