After the massive success of Marvel Studio’s black superhero movie, Black Panther, it’s now Warner Bros. and DC Films’ turn to gear up for the release of its solo movie lined up for the year which is Aquaman. the solo movie is the first full-length feature film centered around the DC Comics character.
Going by the report from Batman-News, Warner Bros. recently held an early test screening for Aquaman at its studio lot. People who were fortunate enough to attend the screening have been asked not to reveal anything about the movie publically, but third-party sites have the liberty to speak on their behalf. One of such sites, Batman News, took to Twitter to share some of the early reactions of the test screening attendees.
“So far two different sources told me they loved #Aquaman! There’s tons of action but it’s a very emotional movie as well,” Batman News’ tweet read.
While Justice League failed to please audiences last year, Jason Momoa’s portrayal of Arthur Curry gained a lot of fans. In Aquaman, Arthur is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis who must come forward to lead the people of his kingdom and to be a hero to the world. The iconic DC hero is expected to be seen wearing his classic bright orange-and-green costume in the upcoming movie.
Several tweets from another source, Jeremy Conrad confirmed that Momoa will be seen donning the classic suit. It looks like the movie will adapt more of Geoff Johns’ New 52. but some changes are expected since recently, it was also revealed that King Nereus and Mera won’t share the same relationship as they did in the comics.
Notably, DC Films roll out the first trailer of their films at least one year prior to their official releases, as it did with Wonder Woman, Batman vs. Superman and Justice League. So, it’s the right time for the makers to drop the first Aquaman trailer as it will help create some hype among fans.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa playing Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson playing Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, and Temuera Morrison playing Thomas Curry.
Aquaman will land in theatres on December 21, 2018.

Hate to break this to the clickbait people hoping WB reboots the DCEU, but…
Aquaman is set after Justice League. Steppenwolf’s defeat is specifically mentioned in the movie.

Aquaman does have his classic look in the movie. Gold tunic, green pants and gauntlets.

Johns’ New 52 run was easily some of the best Aquaman ever and it sounds like the movie is running with that.
I. Can. Not. Wait. For. December. https://t.co/TRnSsdtNQ2
