Aquaman Gets Spotlight At NYCC, Character Costumes On Display At DC’s Booth

Earlier, fans were treated with a surprisingly lengthy 5 trailer of Aquaman. As expected, it has widely received a warm reception. As the only DC movie to release this year, the studio is doing its best to promote the title. At New York Comic Con, the DC booth also got the spotlight by presenting a giant Aquaman banner along with big mannequins of Arthur Curry, Mera and Black Manta offering fans an up-close-and-personal look at the characters costumes in the display.

The Black Manta costume looks stunning featuring the giant helmet with big eyes, harpoon guns in the wrists, propulsion jets around his calves and ankles, navigation turbines on the back and LED displays throughout. The gladiator suit that was worn by Arthur Curry when he fights his half-brother Orm was also on display.

There’s also a prototype of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman donning his comic book accurate orange and green colored superhero suit and holding his iconic Trident. A full-size Aquaman LEGO statue is on the display as well. You can check out all the pictures below.

Earlier before the trailer reveal, Director James Wan also shared a brand new poster for Aquaman on Twitter offering a glimpse at the DC underwater superhero’s classic green and yellow costume. The poster shows a green-gloved hand of Jason Momoa’s titular character emerging from the water, hoisting a trident into the sky. It also features the ominous tagline: “A tide is coming.”

Unlike the first poster which widely received a mix response, the new poster got a positive reaction from fans. Moreover, the trailer itself finally revealed the most anticipated final suit of Aquaman and going by fans’ reaction, it is everything that the audience expected it to be. If you haven’t seen the extended trailer yet, check it out below.

Aquaman is set to arrive in theaters on December 21 in the US and UK, and December 26 in Australia.
