Aquaman Guide Book Explains Why Arthur Stayed Away From Atlantis

Warner Bros and DC Films’ highly anticipated Aquaman is just a month away from hitting theatres. Prior to the film’s release, an image from the recently launched Aquaman: Arthur’s Guide to Atlantis guidebook has surfaced online giving fans an idea over why a 13-year-old Arthur decided to do away with Atlantis.

The Aquaman: Arthur’s Guide to Atlantis guidebook features the information through the words of a young Arthur Curry.

The letter, penned down by Curry, blames Willem Dafoe’s Vulko and his alien friends for forcing him to keep away from Atlantis. It says if Atlantis doesn’t want him, he also doesn’t want to have any connection with the underwater world.

Fine. You know what? Vulko, you and your alien friends win. If Atlantis wants NOTHING to do with me, then I want NOTHING to do with Atlantis. Why can’t everyone just leave me ALONE!!,” the letter reads.

Furthermore, in the letter, Arthur says he doesn’t want to try and fit in the world that killed his mother. He mentions a book which has a collection of observations and notes about Atlantis. he says he is hiding the book in a place where nobody will ever be able to find it.

When I got home, I locked EVERYTHING away—my photos, my letters, my notes, everything that I didn’t put in this book. I locked it all up in my old tackle box, and I put it in the cellar. I’m done trying to fit into a world that doesn’t want me. A world that killed my mother. So I don’t need this book anymore. I’M HIDING IT SOMEWHERE NO ONE WILL EVER FIND IT,” the letter reads adding, “And Vulko, if he’s out there, I just want him to know one thing: GET LOST.”

The Twitter user who goes by the username @OceanRageM has shared a second picture from the guidebook which shows another entry by Arthur about Vulko. It has a picture of Vulko and his spear along with a message which mentions about Arthur’s training with Vulko.

Look! I managed to snag a picture of Vulko and his spear,” Arthur’s entry reads. “He would kill me if he knew I took a picture of him…wait, do you think he knows what a picture is? Anyway, he says that I’ll get to use the spear IN OUR TRAINING!

You can check out both the pictures from Aquaman: Arthur’s Guide to Atlantis guidebook below.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as the titular DC underwater superhero, Amber Heard as Mera, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
