James Wan’s Aquaman is almost on the verge of release and now reports suggest it is going to be the fourth-longest DCEU film to date.
According to a report coming from Heroic Hollywood, Aquaman will clock in at 139 minutes almost in line with previous rumors that claimed the runtime to span around 140-143 minutes. Batman v Superman is the longest DCEU movie ever with a run time of 151 minutes and Justice League is the shortest spanning for 120 minutes. The upcoming film is pretty close to Wonder Woman and Man of Steel in terms of runtime clocking at 141 and 143 minutes receptively.
Aquaman is already making a big splash with audiences as far as early ticket sales are concerned. Fandango has revealed that the film’s early ticket sales have already surpassed Venom and Mission: Impossible –Fallout. Both Venom and Mission: Impossible –Fallout scaled an impressive opening weekend at $80.2 million and $61.2 million respectively.
Atom Ticket’s first day sales have also been very impressive. DC’s Aquaman has broken a record in advance ticket sales previously set by Marvel Studio’s blockbuster hit Avengers: Infinity War.
In related news, Aquaman billboards have been put up on the sides of Hollywood & Highland Center buildings. One of the billboards shows a close up of Jason Momoa’s comic accurate look, while the other one shows the DC underwater superhero posing with Amber Heard’s Mera.

Director James Wan recently revealed that most of Aquaman will be available in IMAX’s taller aspect ratio. He confirmed that almost 90 percent of the upcoming DC superhero movie will be presented in full-screen on IMAX screens worldwide. Notably, the DC movie hasn’t been filmed with IMAX cameras, but it has undergone digital media remastering (DMR), which up-converts the film for IMAX 70mm.
Aquaman is set to arrive in theaters on December 21, 2018.
