Nicole Kidman is one of the big talented stars all set to play in Aquaman. Earlier, the studio confirmed her casting in the DC film via an official press release. Recently, the actress also decided to give more details on her reason for accepting the role.
Kidman was earlier interviewed by Deadline for one of their series called ‘The Actor’s Side with Pete Hammond.’ During her talk, the actress openly spoke about her career, early life and how she chooses her roles.
Before concluding the interview, Hammond asked Kidman about her upcoming role in Aquaman. For those unaware, the actress plays as Arthur Curry’s mother, Queen Atlanna. Kidman revealed that her decision to star in the DC film would be all thanks to Director James Wan.
“Well, James Wan is Australian, and he’s a friend of mine. I think he’s going to make an amazing movie. We’ve always circled each other, so when he came to me, I was like, ‘James, I’ll do anything for you.’ When he said ‘female warrior from the sea’ who wears mother of pearl, I went, ‘Yes. Female warrior from the sea. Me like.’”
It’s quite exciting to know that the entire cast is thrilled to be playing their part in Aquaman. Earlier on Tuesday, JustJared shared exclusive photos of the actress arriving in Sydney, Australia.
It looks like Kidman might have flown to Australia to film for Aquaman. Currently, the whole team is in the same location building sets and filming underwater scenes.
Aquaman hits theaters on December 21st, 2018. Recently, Producer Charles Roven also confirmed to CinemaBlend that the DC film takes place after the events of Justice League.
