The filming of Aquaman is currently underway in Australia. An Earlier announcement revealed that the production team had begun with the Principal photography. But at present, it looks like Director James Wan has progressed to the next step.
New set photos have revealed the film crew setting up infrastructures for a scene involving Aquaman’s hometown. One image confirmed that the team is in process of building Amnesty Bay for the movie.
For those unaware, Amnesty Bay is a small coastal town in DC Universe. The location is home to Tom Curry, Arthur’s father. In Earth-One continuity, it is the place where Tom met Queen Atlanna and fell in love. After giving birth to Arthur Curry, Atlanna left the two to take her place as Queen of Atlantis.
Before going on to take his place as King of Atlantis, Aquaman lived and grew up in Amnesty Bay. Another set photo shared by Aquaman Shrine suggests that it could the film crew is also building the Curry’s Lighthouse- the place where Tom and Arthur Curry lived. But it hasn’t been confirmed yet. Fans can check out the photos below.
Aquaman releases on December 21st, 2018. Although production is underway, it hasn’t stopped Jason Momoa from training hard to look aesthetic for his main role in Aquaman. Recently, it was revealed that one of the sound stages in the Village Roadshow studios was transformed into a gym to help Momoa train accordingly.
Aquaman has also played a role in the upcoming Justice League. The film releases this year on November 17th.
