Aquaman Star Ludi Lin Calls The Movie Underwater Star Wars

Aquaman is currently filming in Australia. The Jason Momoa starrer is a highly anticipated DC movie and has a really talented cast attached to it. Recently one of the cast members gave some insight about the project and compared it to an iconic movie.

CBR reported that Aquaman and Power Rangers star Ludi Lin shared some details about the DC project in an interview with KissRadio. According to Lin, from what he has seen till now, he can say that there is so much to the movie.

He also stated that there is a difference between Aquaman and other DCEU projects mainly because Aquaman exists almost in a different world. He also agrees with his director James Wan who described his vision for the movie as Star Wars underwater.

Lin is playing the role of Murk, who is the leader of the Atlantean Army. In the movie, he has been described as Aquaman’s ally but that was not the case in the comic books.

In the comic books, Murk was initially in favor of Aquaman’s half-brother and supervillain Orm. He later changed his allegiance and came out in support of Arthur.

Lin while talking about his character in the movie stated that he has gone through changes. Changes that make him somewhat similar to his other character Black Ranger from the movie Power Rangers.

He also praised his role and stated that Murk in the movie will be different from the comics and will be a remarkable character of his own.

Apart from Momoa starring as Aquaman and Lin as Murk, the solo movie has an impressive line-up of stars. Amber Heard is playing Mera, Patrick Wilson is the main villain Orm, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is Black Manta, Willem Dafoe is Nuidis Vulko along with Temuera Morrison and Nicole Kidman playing Arthur’s parents Thomas Curry and Queen Atlanna respectively.

Additionally, Dolph Lundgren was cast as King Nereus and Michael Beach in an undisclosed role. The movie is set to be Momoa’s Aquaman’s first solo adventure and its events will be set after the events of Justice League.

The movie is also expected to delve more into the superhero’s origin and explain his character more elaborately. Aquaman will release next year on Dec. 21.
