Aquaman Star Yahya Abdul Mateen II Responds To Jason Momoa Body-Shamed Photos

Aquaman Star Jason Momoa recently became a victim to body shaming after a few shirtless photos of the actor received crude remarks from people on the internet, stating that he’s already sporting the dad bod. Since then, a horde of fans have responded in his support and that shouldn’t be surprising since Momoa still looks fit if not ripped.

The news of Jason Momoa’s body-shaming has gone viral since then and now its also prompted Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen 2’s response. The actor who played as Black Manta had the perfect response with his tweet, “1. Jason don’t give a damn what people talkin bout. 2. Nobody not gon say it to his face. 3. Cheers!.” You can check out the tweet below.

Some fans on Twitter explained that Momoa currently isn’t in shape because he doesn’t need to keep up his “Movie Body” physique at the moment. The Wrap journalist Umberto Gonzalez also tweeted explaining, “Accurate. Movie body, specifically “superhero movie body” is indeed a thing. No actor can sustain the superhero body long term. Every single one of them have lost their gains long after production wraps because it is simply not sustainable.”

Momoa will next be seen in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune which is currently filming. But production on Aquaman 2 won’t begin anytime soon so its no wonder that he currently isn’t in his usual ripped physique.

Aquaman received major spotlight for finally being the first DCEU title to reach the $1billion mark. The movie earned $335 million domestically and made a whopping $812 million internationally.

Aquaman 2 is in active development and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick has been brought back to pen the script. But its currently unknown if director James Wan will be returning to helm the sequel although he’s also working on a Trench spinoff project.

In addition to the big screen projects, Momoa will also appear in the television series See. For now, you can get your dose of Momoa sporting his aesthetic ripped physique in Aquaman which is currently available on Blu-ray and Digital HD.
