Armie Hammer is one of the most sought after actor by the DCEU fans that expect him to play as Hal Jordon’s Green Lantern. Since DC Film boss Geoff Johns followed him on Twitter, speculations grew and the actor soon started to receive immense support from the masses to play as the space corp. superhero.
Recently, Dwayne Johnson also added more heat to the conversation when he revealed that Hammer would be his choice of actor to play as Shazam. The comment by The Rock started a whole new conversation if Hammer is indeed being considered for the role.
Currently, fans are anticipating a possible announcement that Armie Hammer is either Green Lantern or Shazam in the DCEU. Unfortunately, as of now, the actor is none of them.
Recently, Hammer was interviewed by Screen Rant to talk about his upcoming movie Cars 3. During the talk, the actor was also asked about his options to play as Green Lantern and Shazam. Surprisingly, Hammer is yet to be presented with any of the opportunity from Warner Bros. Here’s what he had to say.
What an embarrassment of riches to have all of these choices. The funny thing is, is nobody has ever come to me an been like… My agent has never called and said, “Armie, Warner Bros, has been talking to me. There’s really interested in you. This whole thing.” Never. In fact, after… there was like a… When the Green Lantern stuff first kind of started, which I think is Geoff Johns fault, because he like followed me on Twitter or something, and everybody was like what does that mean?! So uh… how did it happen, Um, I called my agent, after it had been going on for like a week or two, it had been going on for a little bit, I called my agent, I was like, “Man, have you heard anything from like D.C. or anything?” And he was like, “No”. I was like, “nothing?” He was like, “No”. I was like, “Not one thing?”, and he was like, “No. Why?” I was like, “nothing about… Green Lantern?”, and he was like, “No, nothing”, and I was like, alright. That’s it, that’s the end of it.
It’s quite disappointing to hear that Armie Hammer hasn’t been approached by Warner Bros. However, fans must also be aware of the fact that the American actor could be considered or even shortlisted when the studio begins its casting.
