Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3- AOT fans react to finale’s Rumbling in Marley, Hange’s death fighting colossal titans, The Alliance vs. Eren, Reiner facing Zeke & more

The one-hour episode dubbed as Attack on Titan season 4 part 3 delivers some heavy emotional blows starting off from Hange’s sacrifice to stall the Colossal Titans to the innumerous innocent lives like Ramzi lost due to the rumbling. The Final Chapters’ part one is all about Eren & the alliance’s unbending convictions leading to their inevitable clash in the battleground of Marley – pitting Levi, Reiner and the others against the Beast Titan. Here’s a recap of the best moments according to fans on social media.

Attack on Titan season 4 part 3 is quick to address the irreversible damage from the Rumbling. By the time Hange and the Scouts reach the flying boat, Marley is flattened to the ground – devastating all life that comes across the Colossal Titans’ path. But it’s during the alliance’s journey to stop Eren, their introspection helps them uncover Eren’s true motive as well as their hypocrisy in judging the genocide.

A few AOT aficionados also spotted poetic characterizations in the Rumbling, especially when Ramzi from the refugee camp in Marley is crushed to death alongside his brother while clinging on to the money he pickpocketed. There has been an outpour of praise for MAPPA for accurately depicting instances from the manga like the freedom panel.

Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 fans praise MAPPA for doing justice to the Rumbling sequence

Speaking of which, some AOT fans were delighted over  Mr. and Mrs. Yeager getting their closure, unlike the Manga which chose not to address them. Eren’s grandparents are shown imprisoned in Marley (due to Zeke’s betrayal) and while its a grim death for Grisha’s parents, they seem to accept their fate in the end.

Hange’s death receives tribute but stans are divided over Floch’s demise

In tying up loose ends, Attack on Titan season 4 part 3 addresses what really happened to Floch after he was presumed to have drowned following his last stance against the alliance. But the Jaegerist leader clung to the Azumabito ship and as a final effort, Floch comes close to wrecking up the flying boat before he’s killed by Mikasa.

Many Shingeki no Kyojin fans took comfort in Floch’s demise, also pointing out that he was not among the Scouts shown in the afterlife scene. but some praised his character arc as a true soldier who fought for Paradis with perseverance arguably comparable to Erwin.

Meanwhile, Reiner is redeemed of his traitorous acts such as his part in Marco’s death – or at least in the eyes of his friends Jean, Connie and others when they are also forced into committing similar treacherous harm against Paradis to save humanity. Moreover, when viewers experienced Reiner traumatic childhood through his mother’s point of view – Braun found more sympathy from AOT fans.

Sasha & more dead AOT characters cameo in final chapter part 1

The standout moment in Attack on Titan season 4 part 3 is without a doubt Hange’s death. Her character is given quite the send-off as she slays several colossal titans single-handedly while burning up from the steam. However, her death allows the alliance to fly off and eventually reach Eren.

Hange’s death also served as a tribute to all the Scout regiment members that have died since season 1. The sequence, although brief – shows every pivotal character starting off with Erwin.

The wide shot reveals others like Dieter Ness from the 57th Exterior Scouting Mission or better known for getting his hair chewed on by his horse, Charrete, Levi’s squad Petra, Gunther, Eld, Oluo, Eren & Mikasa’s savior Hannes, Moblit, Shadis and even Sasha to name a few. Readers can check out reactions below.

AOT stans were emotional over Levi losing another comrade in Hange, making him the last standing veteran scout. But there’s more worry in store for Zeke as Levi once again takes on the task to kill the Beast Titan.

The only light-hearted moments to cherish come from Armin and Annie showing their love for each other. Though that’s as far as Hajime Isayama goes in the final chapter part one in recognizing the romantic entanglements that have developed from season 1. Hange’s fascination over the Titans, even getting candid about her desire to ride on Pieck’s cart titan.

After a jaw-dropping entrance for the Alliance (Reiner’s transformation was the best by far), Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 concludes with humanity’s last hope facing Eren. Sadly, it will be a long wait to watch part 2 with the expected release schedule set in fall 2023.
