Avengers 4 actress Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula in Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently shared a new picture of her character on Instagram. The image gives the feel of a character poster which is usually used for promotions. The picture didn’t accompany any caption leaving room for a lot of speculations from fans.
You can check out the picture below.
Nebula is expected to be a very important character in Avengers 4 as she shares a connection with both Thanos and Gamora. She is one of the children raised by Thanos alongside her adopted sister Gamora. Nebula hates Thanos to the extent that she intends to kill him as he’s responsible for torturing her by replacing her body parts with cybernetic enhancements after losing any competition against Gamora.
Notably, Nebula is among one of the characters who survived Thanos’ devastating snap that wiped off half of the universe’s population. She and Rocket are the only two surviving Guardians by the end of Avengers: Infinity War.
According to the storyline depicted in Infinity Gauntlet, the comic book miniseries on which Avengers: Infinity War is primarily based, Nebula will be the one who will take back the Infinity Gauntlet from Thanos and reverse the effects of his snap. But, it is unlikely that Avengers 4 will follow the exact comic book storyline. However, Nebula is still expected to be a key part of Thanos’s defeat, since he has abused her for years and also killed her sister Gamora in Infinity War.
Gillan is also expected to reprise the role of Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3. But as the film’s future is currently up in the air after James’s Gunn’s shocking exit, it remains uncertain if she will be back in that wardrobe again after post-Avengers 4.
Avengers 4 is set to arrive in theaters on May 3, 2019, while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 doesn’t have a release date attached yet.
