With all the six Infinity Stones in the Infinity Gauntlet, the unbeatable Thanos finally did what he wanted to in Avengers: Infinity War. He successfully achieved his goal of saving half of the universe’s population by eliminating the other half with just a snap. The big question is what is Thanos now up to after Infinity War wrap-up. Well, Anthony and Joe Russo have got the answer to this question.
During a recent interview with Empire Magazine via ComicBookMovie, the Russo brothers revealed that after Thanos managed to defeat Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and wipe out countless lives, he has now given up the fight to enjoy his victory which basically means he has retired.
“He’s succeeded in the thing he has set out to do,” Joe said adding, “He’s done. He did it. He’s retired.”
When asked how he and Anthony are going about topping Avengers: Infinity War events with Avengers: Endgame, Joe replied saying, “With a lot of hard work.”
“Whether we top Infinity War or not, I don’t know,” he continued. “But we try to tell the best story we can with these characters. This is bringing to a close the first decade of stories. I think that alone has a dramatic power to it.”
When asked if Avengers: Endgame will end up reaching the three-hour runtime mark, Anthony Russo said it is likely possible that the film may span to three hours considering the story.
“There’s a high probability that this movie will clock in at around three hours,” Anthony said. “It’s a big movie with a lot of story.”
Avengers: Endgame as the title suggests might bring an end to some of the most favorite Marvel characters. When asked if fans should bring tissues handy for an emotional ending, Anthony said he is bringing a tissue for sure.
“I will be bringing one,” Anthony said laughing.
We will find out more when Avengers: Endgame reaches theatres on April 26, 2019.
