Avengers: Infinity War Actor Paul Bettany Reacts To His Character’s Death

A couple of Marvel Cinematic Universe characters were killed in Avengers: Infinity War. The list includes the names of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, Idris Elba’s Heimdall, Zoe Saldana’s Gamora and Paul Bettany’s Vision. Although the film directors Anthony and Joe Russo claimed that the characters’ death will be permanent, fans are still hoping to see their favorite Vision come back to like in Avengers 4.

Actor Paul Bettany has had quite a successful year until now. He has appeared on the big screen in two massive franchises this year namely Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Bettany portrayed the character of Vision in Infinity War and as the villainous Dryden Vos in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Bettany technically died three times on the big screen- twice in Avengers: Infinity War and once in the Star Wars spin-off.

During a recent interview with GQ, when the Vision actor was asked which one of the death was his favorite, he chose his character, Vision in Infinity War. He recalled the heartbreaking scene, in which he begs the love of his life Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) to destroy Mind Stone by killing him.

Ooooh, I don’t know. I think that being murdered by the love of your life [Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen] because you’re asking them to is pretty moving stuff that they wrote for us,” Bettany said.

When asked about his chemistry with his on-screen love Elizabeth Olsen, Bettany said that he doesn’t believe in chemistry, despite how well he and Olsen worked together on-screen. However, he did admit that both of them get on really well with each other.

Both Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story are currently running in theatres now.
