Marvel Studios concept artist Andy Park has shared some Avengers: Infinity War concept art featuring Black Widow character design that Marvel and The Russo Brothers finalized for the Marvel superhero’s final look in the film, albeit with some changes.
The concept art shows Black Widow aka Natasha Romanoff sporting a new battle suit with a scarf and red hair. While the same color theme and suit design was for used in the film, the filmmakers decided to go off with the scarf and red hair. For Park, the omission of the scarf and red locks made sense given the character having been in hiding after the events of Captain America: Civil War.
Park, who works as the Senior Director of Visual Development for Marvel Studios, also took a moment to tease fans about the ongoing Avengers 4 title guessing game, adding “I can’t wait for you all to see her in Avengers: Whatever The Next Title Is!” You can check out the Avengers: Infinity War concept art below.
Black Widow made her cinematic debut in the 2010 film Iron Man 2. Since then, she’s appeared in a number Marvel Cinematic Universe films including Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War and the most recent Avengers: Infinity War.
As Black Widow was among the ones who survived Thanos’ snap at the end of Infinity War, she is confirmed to be returning in the next film with the other surviving Avengers. Along with returning for Avengers 4, Scarlett Johansson is also set to feature in the first ever Black Widow solo film helmed by Cate Shortland. Production work on the film is expected to begin early next year for a rumored 2020 release.
Avengers: Infinity War is currently available on digital and DVD and Blu-Ray, while Avengers 4 is set to arrive in theaters on May 3, 2019.
This was the approved #BlackWidow concept design I did for #AvengersInfinityWar. I guess they decided to get rid of the 🧣& the red hair 🙂 It made sense since she’s in hiding. I can’t wait for you all to see her in Avengers: Whatever The Next Title Is! #ScarlettJohansson pic.twitter.com/c3HF0oWLEi
