Avengers: Infinity War Directors Got Death Threats For Excluding Hawkeye

The absence of Hawkeye from Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War disappointed a lot of fans to the extent that they even resorted to sending death threats to directors Anthony and Joe Russo. Hawkeye is one of the six original members of the Avengers which also include Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, and Black Widow.

During a recent interview with USA Today while promoting his upcoming movie Tag, actor Jeremy Renner who portrays Hawkeye in Marvel movies said it was flattering to know that so many fans love Hawkeye, but he did admit that it was a little intense.

It’s a nice feeling, I suppose,” Renner said. “I think the Russo brothers got way too many death threats. I’m like, Wow, dude, that’s intense. I’m sorry!

At the end of Avengers: Infinity War, almost half of the universe got wiped off after the Mad Titan Thanos snapped his fingers. Among those who disappeared also included Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Star-Lord, Groot, Drax, and Mantis.

As Hawkeye was nowhere to be seen in Infinity War, it’s highly likely that the Marvel superhero archer will join the other surviving superheroes Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, War Machine, and Rocket in their battle against Thanos in Avengers 4.

In fact, Renner himself teased about Hawkeye’s inclusion in Avengers 4. However, he didn’t share any real details. It is expected that the Marvel character will have a large role to play this time around.

Everybody’s got to bite their tongue. But if you like Infinity War, there’s some stuff to come,” Renner said. “What I do know is it’s going to be awesome.”

A few days back, an alleged Avengers 4 promo art surfaced online that featured the surviving Avengers along with their other superhero friends after the events of Infinity War. The concept art showcased Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, War Machine, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Rocket along with Ant-Man, Nebula, and Captain Marvel.

It is heavily rumored that Renner will appear as superhero Ronin and not Hawkeye in Avengers 4 which is set to release on May 3, 2019.
