Photos and clips shared by fans over the month revealed that Avengers: Infinity War is being filmed at Durham Cathedral, England. Since then, the location has been swarming with tourists attempting to meet their favorite cast members from the film.
Recently, the directors of the film addressed the media in England along with the Dean of Durham Cathedral, the very Reverend Andrew Tremlett. Unfortunately, the Russo Brothers weren’t at liberty to discuss their production progress inside the church.
Sunderland Echo has recorded a video of the whole conversation which begins with Reverend Tremlett welcoming the production team to Durham Cathedral. Moreover, he also stated that this present the opportunity for “Tens of millions of cinema-goers” to see the cathedral on the big screen.
The Russo brothers revealed that several scenes have been filmed inside the church. However, there won’t be any reference in the movie which embraces the location as the famous Durham cathedral. Earlier, we also came across a set photo from inside the church which revealed a life-size model of Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The entire ground area was covered with green screen for visual effects purposes.
Earlier, the location was also used in the Harry Potter films. Reverend Tremlett revealed that fans still inquiry about it to take a stroll and expects the same scenario with Avengers: Infinity War.
Avengers: Infinity War releases on May 4th, 2018. Recently, a new cast member from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was spotted in the streets of Durham, suggesting the inclusion of his character in the film.
