Avengers: Infinity War: Groot’s Bond With Rocket Revealed In Film’s Final Line

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War mainly focuses on the Mad Titan Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, who finally succeeds in his mission of finding all the six Infinity Stones at the end of the movie. With all the six Infinity Stones attached to the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos gets the power to wipe off half of the universe’s existence with just the snap of his fingers.

Thanos’ snapping his fingers has turned many of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy superheroes into dust in the wind including Avengers Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), White Wolf (Sebastian Stan), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Guardians Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Drax (Dave Bautista) and Groot (Vin Diesel).

The Guardians of the Galaxy member Rocket (Bradley Cooper) helplessly watched Groot disappearing right before his eyes. Notably, before fading away, Groot said his favorite line “I am Groot” to Rocket. Rocket is the one who translates Groot’s language which is otherwise not understandable for the audience.

A fan who wanted to know what Groot’s last “I am Groot” translation was, took to Twitter to seek an answer from Avengers: Infinity War executive producer James Gunn.

Gunn revealed that Groot’s final line before disappearing referred to Rocket as “Dad.” The scene in question is pretty heartbreaking considering the fact that Rocket is losing his best friend once again.

Everyone is expecting Groot and most of the other superheroes who disappeared to return in the future movies. Chris Pratt has already teased that he is pretty excited for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Fans are looking forward to exploring more of the adolescent Groot’s father-son dynamic with Rocket.
