MCU is perhaps looking at surprising their fans in near future. With their ensemble Avengers: Infinity War to see every Marvel hero going up against Thanos, they are also looking to give some of their heroes altogether new look.
Initially, it was just Chris Hemsworth’s Thor who debuted his short crop as unworthy Thor. Following him, reports were revealed that Chris Evans’ Captain America would be sporting a full beard and long hair in the movie.
After these two new looks, a report revealed that Jeremy Renner would also be sporting a new look in the movie. In addition to that, it is now being revealed that it is not just a new look but also a new superhero identity that Marvel’s archer will be going for.
MCU Exchange reported that Renner’s Hawkeye would be adopting the identity of Ronin. The character had adopted this identity in the comic books as well, however, had returned to his original identity after some time. In the comic books, he was the second person to have taken on the identity.
As Ronin, he was a Samurai without a master. He wielded Samurai swords and even had a full mask to hide his identity. This identity of his was more particularly seen during the events of Skrull Invasion.
Since Avengers: Infinity War is set post the events of Captain America: Civil War, maybe that is why Renner’s character will do everything to hide from the spying eyes of the Government.
He was on Captain America’s side, which made him a fugitive and hence a new look and identity would help him not get caught. But since Thanos and his forces will be invading, he and other heroes will have to keep their differences aside and work together to protect the world.
The movie will also help by providing some information on what Renner’s character has been up to in the MCU and where will he end up once the events of the ensemble are over. There perhaps will be some serious reason for him to take on a darker identity, which will surely be revealed in the movie.
Avengers: Infinity War does not have an official plot yet but it will finally see Thanos invading Earth and going up against almost every Marvel hero. With the power of six infinity stones, he will become a God-like figure and it would be on the heroes to somehow stop him.
Avengers: Infinity War will release next year on May 4 and its sequel will release on May 3, 2019.
