Avengers: Infinity War star Letitia Wright proved her superb acting skills playing T’challa’s little sister, Shuri, in Black Panther. The multi-talented actress has now proved that she is a good freestyle rapper as well.
Wright was challenged to sing a freestyle rap in a segment called Wheel of Freestyle alongside The Roots’ Black Thought (Tariq Trotter) on Wednesday night’s Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She was given three random words to include in her rap- Disco, Red Lobster, and Vibranium.
“Me and Black Thought, spin your head like a disco ball/ Natural disaster, call your pastor and let him pray for you,” the Black Panther star rhymed. “Yo, yo, let’s go grab some food at Red Lobster / Roots, tell me how I can win an Oscar/ And I spit this flow so free off the dome/ Vibranium got me feeling oh-so-cold.”
Wright closed out her set with rhymes about hammer, burrito, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
“In and out of portals like Doctor Strange, a.k.a. Benedict Cumberbatch comin’ through the hatch,” the 24-year-old actress laughed. You can watch the full rap in the video posted below.
Letitia is soon going to reprise her role of Shuri in Marvel Studio’s highly awaited film, Avengers: Infinity War. The actress recently appeared for an interview on the Good Morning America show where a new clip from Avengers: Infinity War was released.
The clip in question showed Shuri diagnosing Vision (Paul Bettany) while asking Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) some questions. There’s also Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman), and Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) standing in the background.
When Letitia was asked whom she thinks is more tech-savvy between Shuri and Iron Man, she said Shuri. It will be quite interesting to watch Shuri confronting Iron Man in Avengers: Infinity War if it really happens.
Talking about Black Panther, the film will be released on iTunes, Amazon, and other online services on May 8 and on Blu-ray and DVD on May 15.
