For Thor fans, who are wondering what their favorite superhero would have as a weapon in the upcoming movie, Avengers: Infinity War, here finally some exciting news for you. To recall, the God of Thunder lost his iconic weapon, Mjolnir, while fighting with Hela in Thor: Ragnarok.
A couple of toy leaks for Avengers: Infinity War was recently spotted online on Reddit. One of the pictures shows Thor’s new weapon which will replace Mjolnir in the upcoming movie. The toy packaging shows Chris Hemsworth’s Thor with his brand-new weapon which looks similar to Jarnbjorn, a Dwarven-forged battle ax. Notably, the weapon also resembles the Ultimate Mjolnir, a half-hammer and half-ax weapon that Thor used on Earth-1610. It is likely that Thor will construct a new weapon with the help of Groot and Rocket Raccoon in Avengers: Infinity War.
What’s interesting to note is that the picture shows Thor with short cropped hair and both his eyes intact. The eye patch from Thor: Ragnarok is surprisingly missing which hints that the God of Thunder might get back his eye in the upcoming film, Avengers: Infinity War. However, the teaser trailer for the soon-to-be-released film still shows the new King of Asgard with an eye patch.
Talking about Avengers: Infinity War, the film will see 76 characters including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man).
The fan-favorite superheroes will be seen fighting as a team against Thanos as he attempts to secure the Infinity Stones. Fans are also looking forward to the ultimate battle sequence that will feature 40 superheroes. Among other things, Captain America is expected to get a new shield, while Iron Man will apparently be donning a new suit.
Avengers: Infinity War is set to hit screens on May 4, 2018.
