Avengers: Infinity War Villain Thanos Is Headed To SDCC 2018 As A Life Size LEGO Statue

Fans’ craze for Avengers: Infinity War antagonist Thanos is far from over. He is undoubtedly one of MCU’s most memorable villains so far. The massive Marvel film starring Josh Brolin as the Mad Titan has reportedly grossed more than $2 billion at the global box office.

After wiping off almost half of the universe in Infinity War with just a snap of his fingers, the Mad Titan’s next destination is the San Diego Comic-Con 2018 event where he will make a presence in the form of a life-size LEGO statue.

According to a report coming from The Hollywood Reporter, Thanos’ statue is about 8-and-a-half feet tall, contains 91,350 bricks and weighs 450 pounds. It took almost 418 hours and more than 17 days worth of time for the LEGO Master Builders to design and build the statue.

Thanos’ statue will be showcased at the LEGO exhibit in the San Diego Convention Center all throughout the show. The massive LEGO creation looks absolutely stunning in the pictures released online. You can check them out below.

In addition to the Thanos statue, Lego is also going to showcase a set of exclusive offerings at the Comic-Con event including a 197-piece Aquaman set inspired by the 1960s cartoon, a Giant-Man and the Wasp set as well as a Millennium Falcon cockpit set from Solo: A Star Wars Story. There are also going to be mini flags for Black Lightning, Unikitty, and Sheriff Deadpool.

Marvel Studios has already announced that it is not going to take part in the massive pop culture event this year. So, this means the grounds of Hall H will not be graced by Captain Marvel or Avengers 4 footage this year. Fans will have to wait longer to get the first look of the highly awaited Marvel films.

San Diego Comic-Con 2018 will kick off this Wednesday, July 18, with preview night and run through Sunday, July 22.
