It is highly likely that Sony Pictures’ highly awaited Bad Boys 3 movie, titled Bad Boys For Life, will finally go on the floors this year. Some story details of the upcoming film have surfaced online teasing fans what they can expect when Will Smith will reunite with Martin Lawrence. Smith and Lawrence will reprise their roles of Miami cop duo Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett in Bad Boys 3.
The first two films of the franchise were released in 1995 and 2003 respectively. Both the films were directed by Michael Bay and garnered around $414.7 million worldwide.
After going in the hands of multiple directors, Bad Boys 3 will finally be helmed by newcomer directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The director duo is best known for directing Black, a Romeo and Juliet-style romance set in Brussels.
According to That Hashtag Show, Bad Boys 3 will pick up with Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) working as a private investigator. Mike Lowrey (Smith), who is going through a mid-life crisis of sorts, is trying to adjust to life with a new, young, cocky and extremely loyal partner. The former Miami cop duo parted ways due to some unknown reasons. However, the two will reunite when a lean and mean Albanian mercenary puts a death order on both Mike and Marcus for killing his brother.
The two will be seen resolving their issues and coming back together once again to bring the mercenary down. As per the report, Bad Boys 3 will be made with a budget of over $100 million. The film’s production work is slated to begin in the fall after Smith is done with shooting for Gemini Man. Sony is currently in the process of casting actors for the upcoming film. More information about the film’s star cast is expected to come up soon.
The Bad Boys 3 script has been penned down by Chris Bremner with Jerry Bruckheimer on board as a producer. There is currently no release date set for the film.
