Barry Allen Looks Mysteriously Silent In New Promo For ‘The Flash’ Season 4

The CW has dropped a new promo for The Flash season 4’s episode 1 titled as “Hero Reborn.” As optimistic it sounds, that doesn’t seem to be entirely true for Barry Allen (Played by Grant Gustin).

In the new promo, Barry Allen seems to have been finally rescued by Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and his friends. But while Iris (Candice Patton) and others are happy to have the speedster back, The Flash’s journey in the speed force seems to have changed him and he might not be the Barry they once knew.

Gustin’s Barry Allen is shown sporting a beard in the promo clip. It seems to indicate that The Flash has been in the speed force for quite some time. Perhaps, as it was earlier indicated in the future newspaper’s headline story written by Iris, the speedster may have gone missing for years.

Tom Cavanagh’s Harrison Wells was nowhere to be seen in the promo. However, it has already been hinted that the character also goes through a transformation in the new season.

Unfortunately, dealing with Barry Allen’s weird and mysterious rebirth won’t be the only case of problem for Cisco and the rest of them at S.T.A.R labs. The Samuroids also seems to be an unstoppable force that’s terrorizing Central City.

In earlier teasers, Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) and Cisco’s Vibe attempt to stop the supervillain only to know that they are no match for him. The situation becomes worse when the Samuroid asks for The Flash to face him.

It looks like the upcoming season would also involve flashbacks that explain us the time The Flash spent being imprisoned inside the speed force. Furthermore, by the looks of it, his enthusiastic and jovial personality seems to have been replaced with some gritty and dark emotions.

The Flash season 4 premieres on Tuesday, October 10th at 8 p.m ET/PT on The CW.
