With Jennifer Garner‘s Elektra news, Deadpool 3 is starting to look like a reunion for the 2000s Marvel live-action characters or might be the final nail in the coffin of the superheroes introduced under Fox. First debuted in 2003’s Daredevil – Elektra is reported to have a role in the Merc with a Mouth’s third installment but fans are more interested in knowing if the 51-year-old star will appear beside her ex-husband on screen, who reportedly reprises the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen role too.
Deadpool 3 is shaping into the franchise’s No Way Home-Esque culmination with more than a slew of Marvel cameos rumored to appear in the multiverse-time travel story. Earlier this month, Batman star Ben Affleck was spotted on the Deadpool 3 set prompting rumors of Devil of Hell’s Kitchen’s return which was backed by multiple insiders.
Now, trade outlets are reporting that The Adams Project actress will reprise as the deadly assassin & according to insiders, the actress has already filmed her scene in London. If so, Garner’s appearance may be brief, in line with the MCU’s cameo screentime offered to characters in the past such as John Krasinski‘s Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange 2.
It also begs the question of Garner’s character and Matt Murdock potentially being axed in the threequel. But it has been speculated the two characters may have their swan song in Avengers: Secret Wars.

Ben Affleck’s Daredevil and Jennifer Garner’s Elektra were the first live-action to introduce the Marvel character’s romantic/love interest which was later explored in Netflix’s show starring Matt Murdock. Though Affleck and Garner’s real-life romance developed on the Marvel set. “We met on Pearl Harbor, which people hate, but we fell in love on Daredevil.”
While the two are separated with Affleck currently married to Jennifer Lopez, Marvel fans are still hoping to see the 2000s iteration of Charlie Cox and Elektra’s love interest play out once again in Deadpool 3. Or perhaps, knowing the Merc with a mouth’s fourth-wall-breaking banter – it may at least be addressed? Nonetheless, the excitement to see their return can clearly be seen in the reactions below.

Elektra was one of the failed comic book movie adaptations of the 2000s falling in line with Halle Berry‘s Catwoman. The Daredevil spin-off failed to be a box-office success and 13 years later, the character received a new iteration portrayed by Elodie Yung. However, it looks like the Marvel Cinematic Universe might introduce a new actor to replace Yung.
In more Deadpool news, while Cable’s time-travel machine is expected to play a pivotal role in helping the Merc meet Wolverine – Nathan Summers sadly won’t appear alongside Wade Wilson. According to MTTSH, Cable does not have a role in Deadpool 3.
This comes as Zazie Beets‘ Domino was also reported to not appear in the third film. There are speculations that Cable’s (Josh Brolin) absence might be to due to the TVA though there is no concrete proof yet.
