Keanu Reeves and Alex Winters will soon be getting into their roles as the rock n’ roll time travelers as Bill and Ted Face the Music gets a production start date. After facing several hurdles, Bill and Ted 3 has finally managed to move past its limbo stage and is all set to start rolling the cameras on March 5.
UPDATE (March 20, 2019) – Bill and Ted 3 is confirmed to begin filming this Summer in New Orleans
UPDATE: Pursue News has received word from the studio that the project won’t be filming in March and it won’t be taking place in Arizona
The news comes from Film Magazine Production Weekly‘s latest listing which states that the team will start principal photography on March 5. Furthermore, as we earlier reported, filming will take place in Los Angeles, Tempe & Phoenix, AZ. its currently unknown which location the team would first begin filming in.
Just recently, director Dean Parisot teased that the movie could be released this Christmas. From the looks of it, the studio might be pushing to release this much-awaited threequel for this year’s Holiday season at the end of the year.
Last year in November, Winter did reveal that Bill and Ted 3 was in pre-production and were looking at an early 2018 production start. So it seems like the project has been steadily in active development since then.
Currently, Reeves, Winters and William Sadler are the only actors mentioned in the cast list. but fans can sure expect a casting announcement soon.
Bill and Ted 3 will be directed Dean Parisot from a script penned by Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson. Scott Kroompf will be producing alongside Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce of Hammerstone Studios. Steven Soderbergh is also on board as an executive producer with Scott Fischer, John Ryan Jr., and John Santilli.

When we last picked up with the most audacious dudes they were time-traveling teenagers trying to pass history class and win the battle of the bands. Once prophesied to save the universe with their rock ‘n’ roll, according to the production the new movie will see the two best friends as middle-aged men with family responsibilities who have yet to fulfill their destiny. They’ve written thousands of tunes, but they have yet to write a good one, much less the greatest song ever. With the fabric of time and space tearing around them, a visitor from the future warns the duo that only their music can save life as we know it. Out of luck and inspiration, Bill and Ted set out on another time-travel adventure — with the help of their daughters, a new crop of historical figures and some sympathetic music legends — to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe as we know it.
