As principal photography on Warner Bros. and DC Films highly awaited Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) has begun earlier this month, set photos and behind-the-scenes pictures have started pouring in via social media.
The first batch of set pictures shared by Twitter account Harley Quinn Updates shows Margot Robbie donning a totally new Harley Quinn costume. The two pictures taken from different angles show Robbie in a blue star bikini top, red and white pinstripe pants, and a blue and silver sequin coat with a big red star painted on her stomach. A messy, blue-hued bun, has replaced Harley’s signature pigtails in the pictures.

Earlier this week, the filmmakers released a new teaser trailer for Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on a new YouTube channel called CheekySneakyPeeky. The 20 seconds long teaser trailer reveals the first look at the entire cast of characters, including the Huntress and Black Canary, which will be brought to life on the big screen by Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jurnee Smollett-Bell, respectively. Ewan McGregor also makes a blink-and-miss appearance as the film’s villain, Black Mask, in the teaser clip.
Meanwhile, Robbie also posted a picture on Instagram of herself as Quinn from her upcoming female-centered film.
“Miss me? HQ” the actress wrote along with the photo she posted to social media.
In related news, according to Joblo’s Paul Shirey, WB has confirmed via email that there is no confirmed rating for the film as of yet. So, this means there are chances that Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) may not be R-rated after all.
Directed by Cathy Yan from a script penned by Bumblebee writer Christina Hodson, Birds of Prey is currently set to release in theaters on February 7, 2020.
