The final trailer for Black Adam seems to hint at the Justice League’s existence during JSA member Hawkman’s interaction with Amanda Waller (Viola Davis). The nod aimed at DC’s ensemble introduced in the Zack Snyder-directed flick coupled with rumors of Man of Steel’s (Henry Cavill) appearance in the upcoming movie has some DCEU fans rest assured the original timeline arc will be addressed at some point in the Dwayne Johnson starrer standalone feature.
The last trailer for Black Adam sets the stage for Teth-Adam’s arrival and his showdown against JSA, the Justice Society of America. Although in the comics, Mighty Adam’s outlook blurs the line between being a hero and a villain, the titular character will still face another supervillain named Sabbac (Marwan Kenzari) in his first live-action outing as an anti-hero. Aside from his showdown with the film’s big bad, the latest trailer indicates Black Adam’s first brawl encounter is against Dr. Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo) and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindel). Moreover, it seems to be a mission directly handed by Waller, the director of A.R.G.U.S. and the officer responsible for Task Force X.
Speaking of whom, the scene featuring Waller communicating through a digital interface may have confirmed the events of DCEU 2017’s team-up flick. A closer look at the video call screen to the left and readers can notice “Justice League” mentioned under her affiliations along with another term that seems to be Suicide Squad, as some eagle-eyed fans spotted in the tweets below.
Justice League acknowledgement! This goes back to Peacemaker as well. I’m interested in the story Gunn and DC have set for Waller and what her potential plans are. This trailer establishes Black Adam as apart of the DCEU and that’s important. pic.twitter.com/lbPP7NcVYA

In the Black Adam trailer, Dr. Fate describes his team as the Justice Society so the mention of the Justice League is not an alias for the Golden age superheroes. In addition, in a recent interview with Comicbook, Swindell who plays Cyclone was questioned regarding DCEU heroes like Superman and how they could be factored into Black Adam.
“There’s definitely a way to answer that, though. Because it’s like, not that I’m going to give it away. I mean, there’s nothing to give away,” Swindell said. “No, but it’s like, when you watch the movie, you can imagine all of it coexisting together. Even considering that it’s the first one, or for us, but the world of DC gets a little bit broader. And then there’s space for more to come, which I think is the most incredible part about the film.”
From the looks of it, DC already has a plan in store where both ensembles could co-exist side by side. But as Hodge added, “We came first [JSA]. All right? Let’s get that straight. Justice Society was the very first superhero team in the existence of ever.”
The Justice League members The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Superman were last acknowledged in James Gunn‘s Peacemaker series finale. Furthermore, Wonder Woman is expected to appear in the upcoming Shazam! Fury of the Gods as well.
It’s possible Waller’s scene from the trailer could be from another time in the future after the events of the Black Adam’s story in Kahndaq. In the past, Studios have construed trailers to portray a different message to keep the big surprises for the theatrical experience, as Sony Pictures did for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Hopefully, the current WBD CEOs overseeing DC, Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy have a strategy that attracts all DC fans especially since the Snyderverse fandom has also shown interest due to Cavill’s potential role.
Black Adam will hit theatres on October 21.
