The last Marvel title for the 2022 slate, Black Panther 2 is expected to be the most emotional and impactful sequel to come from Marvel Studios. Director Ryan Coogler was tasked with the difficult duty of continuing Wakanda’s story without its King. The movie’s story in itself pays respect to Chadwick Boseman’s legacy through his character, paying tribute to T’Challa’s passing, as revealed in the trailer and the D23 footage.
Feige recently touched upon their decision not to recast Boseman saying, “The world is still processing the loss of Chad. And Ryan poured that into the story.” The director also added that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever script is “spiritually very similar” to the earlier version that was penned before Boseman’s demise. The helmer and co-wrier Robert Cole rejigged it.
So far, Huerta’s terrifying presence as the Sub-Mariner has received the most love from fans on social media. Namor was confirmed to be the first Mutant to grace the big screen, similar to his comic counterpart. Black Panther 2 will be the second longest film from MCU to date, with a run time of 2 hours and 41 minutes.
