Black Panther Deleted Scene Shows Young T’Challa Cheering Up T’Chaka

Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War’s staggering success has put Marvel Studios on the top. Now that Black Panther, which is one of 2018’s highest-grossing films, is inching closer to its home video release, some deleted scenes from the film have surfaced online that could not make it to the film’s final cut.

Yahoo! has released a new deleted scene from Black Panther which shows T’Chaka (Atandwa Kani) having a heart to heart conversation with a young T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) regarding the difficult decisions that a king needs to make. The flashback scene focuses on T’Challa’s bonding with his father. The moment comes after T’Chaka returns to Wakanda after killing his brother (Erik Killmonger’s father).

The clip, titled “Voices From the Past,” was originally slated to show up after Black Panther‘s opening flashback scene. But, for some reasons the scene was not included in the final cut. You can check out the deleted scene below.

The second deleted scene from director Ryan Coogler’s blockbuster film features T’Challa discussing fond memories of T’Chaka and his tragic death with his friend Zuri, played by Forest Whitaker. The moment comes after T’Challa wakes up from his first heart-shaped-herb coma as the king.

My whole life I would watch him wearing the suit,” T’challa says to Zuri in the clip. “He could pick up a grown man with one hand … run as fast as a zebra.”

Another deleted scene from Black Panther shows Okoye (Danai Gurira) having a heated conversation with W’Kabi (Daniel Kaluuya). The scene makes it clear that the two Wakandan warriors Okoye and W’Kabi are married and that they’re thinking about having children.

You can watch all the deleted scenes below.

Black Panther will be made available for digital download on May 8 before being rolled out for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on May 15.
