Black Panther: Marvel Releases Clip Explaining T’Challa Lineage & History

As Black Panther release date is just around the corner, Marvel Entertainment has shared a video on Twitter which gives fans a glimpse of T’Challa’s background history. The video focuses on T’Challa aka Black Panther’s expansive family tree.

Dive into Wakanda’s rich comic book history with the family lineage of its ruler, the Black Panther. Long live the king,” read the video caption.

The new Black Panther family tree video has been created by Khary Randolph and Erick Arciniega. As per the video, it all began with ancestor Bashenga and continued on from there. The video in question also explains how T’Challa got the throne of Wakanda.

During World War II, Azzuri the Wise protected Wakanda from an invasion by Hydra for Vibranium. He later married Nanali with whom he shared two sons- T’Chaka and T’Shan. The elder son, T’Chaka, succeeded his father as Wakanda’s king. His wife died while giving birth to their son T’Challa. He adopted a child named Hunter and had another son with an unnamed woman. T’Chaka remarried Ramonda, who gave birth to a daughter named Shuri.

Notably, after T’Chaka’s demise, T’Challa got the throne and the mantle of Black Panther. His sister Shuri is likely to inherit both the titles eventually. Basically, the main purpose of the video is to let fans know some important details about Black Panther’s Wakanda background.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, the upcoming superhero movie, Black Panther, stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa / Black Panther along with Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira,  Daniel Kaluuya, Sterling K. Brown, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke,  John Kan, Andy Serkis and Florence Kasumba in lead roles.

Releasing on February 16, 2018, the film is expected to earn more than $130 million in its opening weekend.
