Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions are all set to grace San Diego Comic-Con 2018 next month with their Hall H panel presentation showcasing their two upcoming horror movies- Halloween and Glass respectively.
Blumhouse’s Halloween is a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s original 1978 film, while Glass is a sequel to M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable. Notably, the trailers of both the films were showcased at CinemaCon in April where Jamie Lee Curtis showed up for Halloween and Shyamalan and his co-stars James McAvoy, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, and Sarah Paulson were hand on to showcase the first Glass footage.
Almost all the big film studios like Disney, Warner Bros, Sony, Paramount and 20th Century Fox take it to the San Diego Comic-Con event every year to showcase their upcoming movies. It is rumored that Universal Pictures will bring only Halloween and Glass with it to the SDCC stage and not the upcoming movies including Mortal Engines, The Grinch, The House With A Clock In Its Walls, and How to Train Your Dragon 3.
Directed by David Gordon Green, Halloween will see Laurie Strode, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, coming face-to-face with Michael Myers for one final encounter, played by Nick Castle, almost after 40 years after his initial killing spree on Halloween night. The movie also stars James Jude Courtney, Judy Greer, Virginia Gardner, Andi Matichak, and Will Patton.
Night Shyamalan’s Glass will follow the conclusion of the 2016 released Split. The film is expected to be the third and final installment in the Unbreakable series which already includes Unbreakable and Split. It will focus on Bruce Willis’ David Dunn, a security guard, who heads on a mission to track down James McAvoy’s Kevin Wendell Crumb. Samuel L. Jackson’s Elijah Prince aka Mr. Glass will also return in the upcoming film.
Shyamalan has previously used SDCC stage to debut his films, but, he won’t be doing so with Glass this time around.
Halloween will debut in theatres on Oct. 19, 2018, while Glass will premiere on Jan. 18, 2019.
