Bond 25: Actor Said Taghmaoui In Line To Play The Lead Bad Guy

Wonder Woman actor Said Taghmaoui has revealed that he has been roped in to play the role of the bad guy in the next James Bond installment titled Bond 25. The movie will see Daniel Craig reprising his role of MI6 agent James Bond for the fifth time. The actor has already played the British spy in 2006’s Casino Royale, 2008’s Quantum of Solace, 2012’s Skyfall and 2015’s Spectre.

During a recent interview with The National in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, Taghmaoui said that he will be playing the lead bad guy in the upcoming film.

I’m supposed to do the next James Bond, playing the lead bad guy,” the Infiltrator actor said.

Taghmaoui revealed that director Danny Boyle had finalized him for the role. But, now, as Boyle has himself stepped away from the project following creative differences, it remains to be seen if the new director would continue with the film’s story and casting of if he will take the film in another direction.

I was cast by Danny Boyle, and just now he left the project, so of course there’s some uncertainty,” he said. “We don’t know who the director will be, and the producers don’t know if they’re going to go Russian or Middle East with the baddie right now. I literally just received a message saying:If they go Middle East, it’s you. If they go Russian, it’s someone else.’ It’s the story of my life. Always on that line between something that could change my life and something that disappears.”

Taghmaoui is hopeful that he will soon be giving a tough fight to outgoing Bond Daniel Craig, as planned.

Notably, longtime James Bond film producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are still in search of a new director for Bond 25. It is rumored that they are even eyeing Mission: Impossible – Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie to helm the film.

Bond 25 is scheduled to begin principal photography at Pinewood Studios in London in December this year. The film is currently set to release in the UK on October 25, 2019, and in the U.S. on November 8, 2019.
