Marvel Studio’s Captain Marvel actress Brie Larson has shared a new picture from her upcoming film on Instagram urging people to get out and cast their vote in the 2018 United States midterm election that takes place on Tuesday, November 6.
The picture in question features Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel donning her green colored Starforce uniform as she stands at a payphone, surrounded by Rock the Vote posters. It appears to be a behind-the-scenes photo and not an officially released still.
“Captain Marvote is a bad pun but now that I have your attention please vote tomorrow,” the caption accompanying the picture reads.
Larson isn’t the only actress who has used her celebrity status to encourage people to vote. A few weeks ago, Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo posted a meme featuring himself and his Avengers 4 co-star Paul Rudd, who plays Ant-Man, requesting his fans to vote. Deadpool fame Ryan Reynolds also recently shared a message informing fans that vote is his new favorite four letter word. You check out all the posts below.
In related news, Instagram user NinjaWhip recently posted a picture of a LEGO Minifigure of the Skrull leader Talos from the Captain Marvel film. The upcoming film will introduce the advanced shapeshifting alien race, The Skrulls, known for the Kree-Skrull War in the comics. The story finds Earth and the Avengers caught in the middle of a long war between the Skrull and Kree Empires.
Set in the 1990s, the film will follow the story of Carol Danvers who is an Earthling and has somehow come to possess cosmic powers. She is a member of an elite Kree military squad, Starforce.
Directed by Anna Boden, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, and Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Algenis Perez Soto, McKenna Grace and Annette Bening.
The film is set to release in theatres on March 8, 2019.
