Brie Larson’s ‘Captain Marvel’ Filming Start Date Revealed

Earlier in Jan, Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel surprisingly began filming early in California only to go on a 2-month hiatus after a week into production. Now, it looks like the project is all set to resume production this month.

According to Production Weekly, Captain Marvel will begin filming on March 19th in Los Angeles.  Production will go on throughout the year and is scheduled to wrap in February 2019, a month away from its release.

It was reported that the project began filming earlier to take advantage of the tax break in California. It granted the studio $20million tax credit in July last year.

Thanks to the early start of production in Jan, fans got their first look at Brie Larson in the character’s costume. It was later revealed that it was a Kree uniform or rather a suit inspired from Mar-Vell’s ( played by Jude Law) green costume.

Now that filming is expected to begin in late March, it is only a matter of time before Marvel Studios officially unveils the colorful red, yellow and blue costume or some fan or paparazzi manages to snap a picture of the actress in the costume while filming on set.

Recently, it also came to fans notice that Humans actress Gemma Chan will play a character known as Doctor Minerva, a Kree geneticist and spy.

Captain Marvel will be set in the 90s and will introduce Skrulls as the primary antagonists.  The solo film is being directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. The character will be shown differently than before as he is being introduced in a timeline where his eye injury also hasn’t taken place yet. Ben Mendelsohn is excepted to play the lead antagonist in the movie.

Captain Marvel will hit theatres on March 8th, 2019. Stay tuned with Pursue News for updates related to Captain Marvel and others in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
